Most adult learners do not need more grammar. They need a room where they are expected to talk, every week, with people at the same stage. That is the whole idea behind our small group Spanish conversation classes, and this post explains exactly what they are, who they are for, and what happens once you sign up.

What a small group class actually is

Four live sessions on Zoom, capped at eight students, built around guided conversation rather than lecture. A coach steers the discussion, introduces vocabulary as it comes up naturally, explains the culture behind the language, and makes sure every person in the room speaks in every session.

The cap is the point. At eight students you cannot hide, and you also cannot be put on the spot in front of forty people. Mistakes are expected. Asking someone to slow down is normal.

The next class: October 2026

The October group is Spanish for Relationships and Real Conversations, taught by Hannah together with Arturo De León Gómez. Four weeks on the Spanish people actually use with the people closest to them: flirting, compliments, showing affection, couple communication, and the relationship expressions Mexicans really say.

Who these classes are for

All levels, all ages, and students join from around the world. In one small group you might meet:

• Complete beginners, who are warmly welcome and get plenty of support
• Learners coming back after a break of months or years
• Travelers and digital nomads
• Expats and people preparing to move to Mexico
• Healthcare professionals, engineers and business owners
• Retirees, busy professionals and parents
• People learning Spanish for a relationship

Beginners and intermediate learners sit in the same room on purpose. Beginners get support and a real reason to speak. Intermediate learners stretch into longer turns and build fluency through repetition. Everyone is working on the same thing: being more comfortable speaking.

What a typical class looks like

• A warm welcome and an easy opening question
• Guided conversation on the week’s topic
• Vocabulary introduced as it comes up, not as a list
• Cultural explanation where the language needs it
• Student questions, including the ones you brought
• Practical speaking practice for the rest of the session

No two classes run identically, because the conversation follows the people in the room. The study materials are the foundation, not the script.

What happens after you register

• Immediately: your registration confirmation email
• Within one business day: the welcome package, with Zoom details, the full schedule, weekly topics, vocabulary, study materials for all four weeks, and class expectations
• Before each class: a friendly reminder
• After each class: the recording, notes, and extra practice when it helps

Studying ahead is completely optional. You are welcome to just show up. The materials go out early for the people who like to preview, and you are encouraged to bring your own questions either way.

What if you miss a week?

Every live session is recorded, because students join from many countries and time zones. If work, travel, family or anything else takes out a week, the recording reaches you afterwards so you can catch up before the next session.
