A lifelong educator
Arturo has built his career around education and student development. He holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in education and has completed the coursework and graduation ceremony for a PhD in educational innovation. He is finishing his doctoral thesis this year.
As a native Spanish speaker who is bilingual in English, Arturo combines educational expertise with real-world communication and cultural understanding.
He also lived in San Francisco, California, where he gained academic and cross-cultural experience.

Who is Arturo De León Gómez?
Arturo De León Gómez is the Native Fluency and Conversation Coach at Speak Better Spanish. He was born and raised in Mexico, is bilingual in Spanish and English, holds a bachelor's and a master's degree in education, and has finished the coursework for a PhD in educational innovation; he is completing his thesis this year.
What does Arturo teach?
Arturo teaches one-to-one conversation sessions and personalized coaching sessions. He helps students improve conversational flow, understand native-speed Spanish and make sense of grammar through real examples instead of memorization.
Is Arturo a good fit for beginners?
Arturo is a strong fit once you have some foundations and want more native interaction, usually around the A2 or B1 level. Many students build confidence with Hannah first and then expand into native-speed conversation with Arturo.
Is Arturo just the grammar teacher?
No. Arturo does help students clean up grammar confusion, but he teaches it through conversation and real-life examples, so you understand why native speakers say things the way they do.
