To talk about books in Spanish, start with el libro (book), la novela (novel), el autor or la autora (author) and el género (genre). Ask ¿Qué estás leyendo? (what are you reading?) or ¿Cuál es tu libro favorito? To give your opinion, say me encantó (I loved it) or no me gustó (I didn’t like it).

Example Dialogue for Practice

LAURA: ¿Tú cuáles has leído?

RAÚL: Te entiendo, me pasó igual. ¿Y has leído a Óscar Wilde?
